Bangladesh reclaimed the coveted football gold medal of the SA Games after a span of 11 years with a facile 4-0 victory over Afghanistan in the final held at the Bangabandhu National Stadium on Monday. Atikur Rahman Mishu, Enamul Huq, Abdul Baten Komol and Towhidul Alam Sobuj struck for the champions who dominated all the way through and presented the host country the 18th gold medal of the meet. Bangladesh wrapped their campaign with the gold medal believed to be the most precious of the sports extravaganza. Bangladesh booters produced excellent commitment, maintained the same rhythm and were focused to their duties that categorically made the difference. India Senior Women won the 11th South Asian Games women’s football tournament registering a comfortable 3-1 victory against Nepal in the finals played at Bangabandhu Stadium here on Monday. It was Nepal who took the lead but India Senior Women came back strongly to level the terms when Bembem Devi converted from the spot as first half ended 1-1. India Senior Women stepped up the pressure on their opponent and scored two more goals in the second half through Naobi Chanu to register a historic win.  India Senior Women emerged invincible winning all their matches and altogether scored 29 goals in five matches. Besides Gold, India were also awarded the Fair Play trophy.

Afghanistan defeated strong Maldives by 1-0 in second semi-final to move to Final of Football at SAG. Belal Arezou of Afghanistan scored first and only Goal on 72nd minute of the play. Afghanistan will now face on Host Bangladesh in the final on 8th Feb, 2010. Maldives will take on India for Bronze medal match.

Bangladesh moves to final after defeating Indian Junior team 1-0. Indian Junior Played excellent Football throughout the 11th SAG. Inexperience surely showed in India team as they loss semi-final match against host. Substitute forward Touhidul Alam Sobuj struck the winner in the 85th minute of the match. Bangladesh will face the winner of the Maldives-Afghanistan second semifinal on Monday 08 February 2010.

In Women's Football, Today Pakistan has to face Sri Lanka, but Sri Lankan Team dose not come to play the Match. Hence Officials declared Pakistan team as the winner of the match. According to Olympics Laws, Pakistan beat Sri Lanka by 3-0 margin. For all scores of women's football Click here

Click Here for All Scores Semifinal 1: Afghanistan Vs Maldives Semifinal 2: Bangladesh Vs India Bangladesh made a date with India in the first semifinal of the SA Games football defeating Maldives 1-0 in the last match of group A at the Bangabandhu National Stadium on Wednesday 03 February 2010. Midfielder Jahid Hossain netted the all important goal in the 44th minute of the match. Both the teams were ensured of a semifinal berth before taking the field and the match completed the formalities of the group championship and the runners up. Bangladesh with three consecutive wins emerged as the champions and will face group B runners up India on Friday. Maldives who won their two previous matches to finish runners up will lock horns with group B champions Afghanistan in the second semifinal also on Friday.
