5 more Gold fro Nepal


 Nepal increased its gold medal haul to seven on Monday in the 11th South Asian Games in Dhaka. Deepak Bista, Ayusha Shakya, Binod Shakya and Ganga Adhikari added to the two gold medals that Nepal won on Sunday.

Deepak and Ayusha won a fourth and fifth gold medals for Nepal both in taekwondo this afternoon whereas Binod and Ganga claimed the 6th and 7th gold medals in karate.

Earlier on Monday morning wushu player Angbabu Lama bagged Nepal’s third gold medal.

Meanwhile, Deepak Bista created history after defeating a Bhutanese player in the final in the under 87kg category of taekwondo to win a fourth consecutive gold medal at the South Asian Games.

Binita Maharjan on Sunday won the first gold medal for Nepal in the Women’s Thaulo (Taichi Quan) in Sylhet.

Likewise, Sunil Lama, in the men’s U-55 kg Kumite won the second gold medal for Nepal.

However, the taekwondo gold medal winner in the last SA Games Manita Shahi could not repeat her feat in last SA Games after she lost in the finals today.
